The Porsche 911 is an iconic car and the latest model, labelled the “991” is the 50th edition of the car. Happy belated birthday! Porsche have been celebrating this milestone in a number of ways, including a limited edition anniversary version of the model, and a most interesting (actually it was mind blowing) display at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The party didn’t stop there however because they then reached out to their fans on Facebook for further festive birthday celebrations. Fans were given the opportunity to design a very special one-off, bespoke Carrera 4S. A mega 5 million fans took part in this special design venture. I think that’s inspiring. I was lucky enough to see the completed car in the flesh, at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, last November when it was fresh off the boat from Germany.
I think the results are beautiful 🙂
So here is what 5 million Porsche fans created.
The design details:
Colour: Aqua Blue Metallic / Wheels: 20-inch white / Exterior: Cup Aerokit (for a chunkier sportier look) / Interior: Aluminium
Here is a video from Porsche, explaining more about this innovative design venture:
This was the insanely impressive display at the Goodwood Festival last summer. You can read more about the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed here on my blog.
